Well, we didn’t have perfect weather, but even the Spring rain could not put a dampener on this Chinese Wedding at Chelsea Register Office.
I get to photograph quite a few Chinese Weddings here at Chelsea Register Office. Many of my clients meet whilst they’re over here studying at University. They usually go home to China for their big family weddings with 100s of guests. But their legal nuptials take place right here where they met, in fabulous London.
Often, with my Chinese clients, their families are unable to be here. But in the case of Yi Yiang and Khoon Li, both their immediate families were able to be here for them, which is wonderful. I always feel a little sorry for couples whose nearest family are unable to attend. So I was delighted that this was not the case here.
Whilst we did have the family in attendance, I could not deliver sunny weather for them. It was piddling down with rain when the bride and groom arrived and it was still raining when we finished the ceremony. We only had one small umbrella on the day, so the bride and groom squeezed under that. Thankfully, the rest of the family didn’t mind getting a little bit wet.
Bride Yi Tiang looked stunning in her dress, which she brought with her from China. Her smile lights up her whole face, beaming through the overcast day. In fact, both bride and groom could not stop smiling, even as they walked across the Chelsea puddles. The result were some gorgeous wedding portraits.
Here is a small selection of what we photographed for this couple’s Chinese Wedding at Chelsea Register Office. Many congratulations to Yi Yiang and Khoon Li. My they have a long and happy life together.
