There’s nothing quite like the light during a winter wedding. Looking at these images, you wouldn’t believe they were captured in the middle of December! This winter has been unseasonably mild, but it helped that our bride was so full of wedding adrenaline, she just didn’t feel the chill!
One of the lovely things about being a Chelsea Register Office Wedding Photographer is that I often get to explore the local area to photograph portraits around one of the loveliest parts of London. I know every nook and cranny in around here, and I love sharing these little spots with my clients. It’s great when the bride and groom take a little bit of extra time for their wedding portraits, so that we can create a wider variety of images in different settings.
We were very lucky in that it was a bright crisp winter’s day, but this is not something we could have guaranteed in advance. So in order to make the best of the daylight, the bride and groom decided to have most of their portraits done before their afternoon ceremony at Chelsea Register Office. We started at The Orange in Pimlico, where the couple had stayed the night before, and worked our way around the local streets, before heading across the short distance to Chelsea Register Office for the ceremony.
In the end, we still had a little bit of light left after the ceremony, so we stopped for a few more shots in St. Luke’s Gardens, before jumping in a cab for a short ride across to the reception venue, the lovely Tom’s Kitchen in Chelsea. I have photographed a few wedding receptions here. For couples getting married at Chelsea Register Office, this is great venue, as it is actually just a short walk, and an even shorter taxi journey away, the food is lovely here, and the staff are always great!
So it’s been another lovely winter wedding day for this Chelsea Register Office Wedding Photographer – all the pieces fell into place – a gorgeous couple, great winter weather, a charming Chelsea ceremony and a great local reception venue. Perfect! And many congratulations to Tom and Fliss on a perfect wedding day!
