Another Summer Wedding, another new wedding venue. Whilst the ceremony for Juliet and Dermot’s wedding took place in the Rossetti Room at Chelsea Register Office, the wedding reception was held at the lovely Hurlingham Club in Fulham.
The couple have been together for 12 years, so it was time to finally tie the knot. The couple live in London but our groom is Irish and his immediate family had flown in from Ireland to share this day with him, whilst bride Juliet arrived accompanied by her best friend and the couple’s gorgeous little daughter Sinead.
I loved Juliet’s beaded organza wedding dress by Jenny Packham. It was just perfect for her.
The atmosphere for the ceremony was set by half of a string quartet (that’s all there was room for !) – but the other half joined back in later on during the garden reception. The Chelsea Registrars were charming as always, Sinead gave a perfect reading, and the ceremony went off without a hitch.
After the ceremony, of course we had a confetti throw on the register office steps, followed by some family groups, but we decided to photograph the couples’ wedding portraits in the Hurlingham Club gardens.
It’s been nearly 15 years since I was last at the Hurlingham Club to celebrate my God-daughter’s 21st birthday, and that was a winter affair, so I never fully appreciated just how huge and beautiful the club grounds are. The conservatory was light and airy and beautifully decorated, and we could not have asked for better weather. We finished of the portraits with a couple of big groups shots to feature the guests who hadn’t been able to make it to the ceremony, and as I left the wedding party were making their way inside for their wedding breakfast. What a gorgeous day!
