I had such a lovely time creating these Mayfair Library Summer wedding photos for Irma and Tom, they were a pleasure to work with.
Even though this summer’s day last year (yes I still have sooo many blog posts to catch up with) was a bit mixed with the occasional raindrops mingling with the sunny sky, everyone was in high spirits. The couple couldn’t stop giggling and smiling throughout the ceremony. That’s not always the case. I’m often surprised how grumpy some couples’ facial expressions are during their ceremony – and it’s always not because they are not happy to be there, but because they are concentrating hard on what the registrar is saying to them. But it doesn’t always make for smiley photographs. Well I had no such worries with Irma and Tom, who are one of the chirpiest couples I worked with all year.
After the ceremony we went off into Mount Street Gardens for a serious of group photos, and then Tom, Irma and I had some time to ourselves to take advantage of the classic Mayfair surroundings for our wedding portrait photos.
34 Mayfair Restaurant is right next to Mayfair Library Register Office, so we walked over there for the couple’s wedding reception. We timed it extremely well, as the heavens decided to unload a little summer shower on us, just as we were finishing up our portraits. The couple entered their wedding reception to a big round of applause and then continued to mingle with their guests until it was time to sit down for their meal. That was my cue to leave, but not before taking advantage of the funky reception area for one last portrait.
Many congratulations to Tom and Irma!
