I was thrilled when I was asked to photograph Chloë and James’ Morden Park House Wedding.
I love this venue! It is the official location for Merton Register Office, and is set in the middle of Morden Park. The ceremony rooms at Morden Park House are all lovely and bright, and they have had a bit of a make over since my last visit here last year, courtesy of the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Being essentially in the middle of a golf course, we also have plenty of greenery to work with for our portraits. Plus they have a lovely formal garden, which, at the time of this wedding was planted full of lavender. Lavender is GREAT for photographs. It add such a fabulous splash of colour (and of course smell lovely).
The Grade II 1770 listed building also provides a beautiful and classic background to formal family group photographs
And when you have a gorgeous bride in a vintage inspired dress and a handsome groom, what more could this wedding photographer wish for? Bring on lots more Morden Park House Weddings!
On the day of Chloë and James’ wedding, we actually had a slightly overcast day. I know lots of brides hope for bright sunshine on their wedding day. But actually, a bright overcast day offers much more flattering light for your wedding portraits. And we were able to put that gorgeous lavender garden to good use, really surrounding ourselves with all that purple. Enjoy.
