And here is a very special little shoot to finish the year on. Given my London location, I often find myself engaging in Portrait Photography in Holland Park, West London. But this shoot was a bit special for me.
The shoot features Ulla and Ahmad, who asked me to do some portraits of them to give as gifts to Ulla’s nonogenarian dad and also to their three daughters, one of whom is one of my very best and oldest friends. I have known Ulla and Ahmad for nearly 30 years. They are an absolutely charming couple and this shoot, for me, embodies everything I love about portrait and wedding photography. For here we have a couple who have been successfully married for over 45 years!!! How many people can say that in this day and age? And whenever I photograph a young couple getting married, I truly hope and wish for them, that they get the chance to live as rich and long a life together as these two people. And how much more of a wonderful gift can they give to both Ulla’s dad and the girls, than images of them looking so very happy together, which they can cherish forever.
I know I’m sounding a bit drippy, but truly, being able to provide this service to my friends and my clients means the world to me. If I can add a little something to your lives that has meaning to you, then I have done my job right. This is what motivates me, and drives me forward, and what I will continue to strive to achieve in 2013.
