A rainy-day winter wedding.
This was a winter wedding, and the weather wasn’t on our side. But no amount of rain was going to put off this bride and groom from having a fabulous day.
The groom arrived first for his pre-ceremony interview – early enough for us to get a few groom portraits done. Then the ultra glamorous mother of the bride arrived, protected from the rain by not one, but two umbrellas! Anything to keep her fabulous hat dry.
The stunning bride arrived shortly afterwards in a classic white London taxi. Then her proud father walked her into the Marylebone Room wedding ceremony, ready to give her away to the waiting groom. I can’t tell you just how in love I am with this column dress and the lace train and short veil!
Beautifully Posed Family Group Photos
At the end of the ceremony it was still raining heavily outside. So we decided to create the big group photograph featuring ALL the wedding guests, right there inside the Marylebone Room. Royal Family, eat your heart out! Thankfully, once we did finally make it outside, the rain had eased off a little bit and we were able to carry on with the confetti throw and the newlywed portraits.
All in all, this wedding is a perfect example of how you can still get timeless, beautiful photographs, even if it rains on your wedding day. So don’t let the weather dampen your spirits! Also, if you think that a full bridal gown is overkill for a register office wedding, think again. It’s your big day – GO FOR IT!
