Westminster Register Office moved its ceremonies to Mayfair Library back at the start of 2014, whilst a complete refurbishment was taking place at its usual location, the magnificent Old Marylebone Town Hall. Well, the building is now finished. And ceremonies will be taking place there again from early 2018 onwards. So this will be one of the last blog posts to feature Mayfair Library.
And what better way to say farewell, than to share this gorgeous Westminster Register Office vintage inspired wedding at Mayfair Library with you? This lovely bride and groom were one of my favourite couples of 2017. So full of joy and laughter. I loved all the little vintage touches to their styling – with groom Brian sporting a fabulous ruffled shirt. He even brought along a portable record player so that bride Louise could hear Shirley Bassey singing Pieces of Dreams as she walked down the aisle.
Louise wore a gorgeous white lace dress and even a veil, which is not something I see a lot of photographing register office weddings.
After the ceremony we headed out into the glorious sunshine in Mount Street gardens for some wedding portraits in the park and outside the lovely Farm Street Church.
I’m so going to miss having the park right next door, complete with vintage red phone box, when we move back to the Old Marylebone Town Hall. But change is life. And “life” is what Brian and Louise are celebrating here, ahead of the arrival of their little bundle of joy in a few months time to add to the bride’s two little girls, creating a wonderful new family. So I wish them all the happiness in the world together as a family.
