I’ve titled this post “wedding photography at the Goring Hotel” but strictly speaking, it’s not a wedding but a wedding celebration. In fact, Ruth and Patrick were married at Chelsea Register Office the day before, in the tiniest of circles, and without a professional photographer. They felt that the ceremony itself was merely a formality and that the import time to capture was their celebration, at the wonderful Goring Hotel in London, with their close family and friends.
Ruth and Patrick actually live in Ireland, but decided to get married over here, at the famous Chelsea Register Office. For their wedding celebration at the Goring, Ruth wore her grandmother’s beautiful satin and lace wedding dress. Few dress makers make lace of this quality in this day and age. Ruth is lucky to be so lovely and slim for the dress to fit her beautifully.
We spent a little time in the couple’s gorgeous hotel room, using the art nouveau decor as the background for our portraits, before joining the guests on the terrace. After a brief reception, the party then sat down for their wedding breakfast and I headed off home.
Many congratulations to Ruth and Patrick.
