I love my job, I really do. Especially when I have the change to work with such charming people as Gavin and Nicky, who chose me for their wedding photography at The Bluebird Cafe in London’s King’s Road.
I have photographed several wedding receptions in different rooms at The Bluebird, but this was my first wedding ceremony here. But weddings at The Bluebird are officiated by registrars from Chelsea Register Office, my home from home, so I was on familiar ground :-). And The Bluebird always does a gorgeous job of making their rooms look stylish for their weddings.
Bride Nicky was super glamorous and absolutely radiant on the day, and was walked down the “aisle” by her younger son Alex. The emphasis on the day was on capturing the wedding naturally and unposed, with a minimum of staged family groups or couples portraits. The brief was to capture the joy and fun of the day and there was plenty of that to go around!
It was a lovely afternoon and Nicky and Gavin were a delight. I wish them both all the happiness in the world together.
