This was my second visit in a week to Chelsea to provide wedding photography at Kensington & Chelsea Register office. This time for the civil wedding ceremony of Michelle and Edward in the Rossetti Room. Michelle looked absolutely stunning in her amazing Jenny Packham wedding dress. Edward brushed up pretty well too :-).
I said last week that it’s not a Chelsea Register Office wedding without a confetti throw on the steps. Well, I stand corrected! Michelle and Edward decided not to have confetti and instead walked out to a big round of applause from their family.
I’m not someone who goes in for the whole “faux vintage” look that’s so popular at the moment with photographers who spend lots of time in photoshop trying to give their images an aged effect. But when vintage naturally presents itself, then I’m all for it! Like in this case this lovely set of distressed church doors. It’s funny as I have photographed weddings at Chelsea Register Office countless times, but if it hadn’t been for the fact that the light on the front steps was really harsh and shadowy, I would not have gone around the corner and found these lovely doors. I’ve walked past them so many times, but always in the bleached exposure of morning light – never in the soft light of early afternoon shade. It all went perfectly with Michelle’s dress, too.
Many congratulations to Michelle and Edward.
