Firefighter Wedding Photos at Chelsea Register Office

A firefighter groom and his bride receive the firefighter's salute of an arch of raised axes, as they exit onto the steps of Chelsea Old Town Hall.

So here’s something different: Firefighter wedding photos from Chelsea Register Office!

It’s my first firefighter’s wedding and I must say it was I was swooning at all those gorgeous firemen in full dress uniform! And I really enjoyed photographing all their lovely wedding traditions.

First of all, the bride arrived by vintage fire engine! The groom had arranged this as a surprise for her and she definitely hadn’t seen THAT coming! Getting in out of the fire engine cab was not the easiest job when clad in a gorgeous wedding dress! Then there was a Firefighter’s Guard of Honour for the bride as she entered the register office, which entails the firefighter’s company forming a tunnel of fire axes for the bride to walk through. During the ceremony, the groom’s best man read a firefighter’s poem, which was incredibly moving.

After the ceremony, there was another Firefighter’s Guard of Honour, this time to honour our fireman groom and his new bride. And then we obviously had to get some photographs of the bride and groom posing with the Vintage Fire Engine.

As if that wasn’t enough for vehicular excitement, the couple had also arranged for a vintage London Routemaster bus to take them to their reception venue, nearby Tom’s Kitchen. On our way there, we went on a little detour to take in some London sightseeing. Unfortunately the weather started to draw in, and by the time we got to Westminster for some more bride and groom wedding photos, it was raining pretty heavily. So we literally jumped off the bus for a quick couple of shots, until our bride Simone had enough of the rain.

Tom’s Kitchen, our wedding reception venue, were charming and welcoming as always. But when it came to the cutting of the wedding cake, I was in for another first – as the bride and groom decided to cut the cake with the groom’s firefighter’s axe! I felt a little scared for the cake, I have to be honest.

Once the wedding party had settled into the dining area, I left them to enjoy the rest of their day, and I’ll leave you to enjoy these Firefighter Wedding photos.

This bride and groom had a red London Routemaster bus take them on a little sightseeing tour of London, stopping off opposite the Houses of Parliament. Just a shame about the rain.
