A change of for me this week for the Merton Register Office Wedding of Nayra and Aday. I love Merton Register Office, and wish I got to photograph more weddings there.
It’s a lovely building with beautiful ceremony room, with lots of lovely daylight flooding in. And the building itself is set within Merton park and surrounded by amazing, knarly old trees. It’s just the loveliest setting. I almost prefer the trees in Spring before all the foliage comes and you can still see the intricate branch network. I think they make a fabulous background for wedding portraits.
Nayra and Aday are from Spain but live in London, and so decided to have their wedding ceremony here in Merton, before their bigger family wedding in Spain later in the year. For this intimate register office wedding, the couple just had their closest friends along as witnesses, along with their friends’ little boy who did and excellent job of delivering the wedding rings.
