This week I’m at Fanham’s Hall for Donna and Francis’ wedding celebrations, and the weather just won’t let up… 3 weeks of rainy weddings and this was no exception. When I arrived to photograph Donna and Francis’ wedding at Fanham’s Hall in Ware, it was tipping down so hard I thought I would drown on the way from my car to the building. But this did not dampen the spirit of bride Donna as she was getting ready with her bridesmaids.
It was lovely to see all the little details that Donna had incorporated into her wedding outfit. The totally fabulous Ian Stuart wedding dress aside (and let’s face it, when is Ian Stuart ever NOT fabulous?), Donna had her grandmother’s broach attached to her bouquet of yellow and lilac roses and had her mother’s ring sown into her garter. How sweet is that? She certainly had “something old” and “something borrowed” covered.
Whilst Donna was getting ready, groom Francis was getting vetted by the registrars at Fanhams Hall and mingling with the guests until it was time for the ceremony.
The rain didn’t let up after the ceremony so we did our formal wedding portraits indoors. Lucky for us, Fanham’s Hall has plenty of gorgeous, light rooms to use. Eventually, the rain lifted and reduced to a fine drizzle, and occasion even stopped completely, so we had a chance to explore the stunning gardens and grounds of this amazing venue.
Then it was time for the wedding breakfast, touching and hillarious speeches, and first dance featuring both salsa moves AND a bit of Saturday Night fever. Many congratulations to Donna and Francis – I wish them a lifetime of happiness together.
