Wedding Photography at Asia House | Westminster Register Office

This is the first time I’ve had the chance to share some of my wedding photography at Asia House with you. Asia House is a Georgian Townhouse in the heart of Mayfair, that Westminster Register Office use for wedding ceremonies. It is an alternative to Mayfair Library, and is just up the road.. There are a number of rooms you can choose for your wedding ceremony, but for this wedding, we are in the Library. This is a lovely room with great daylight coming in to light up the bride and groom during the wedding ceremony.

The registrars here are the usual Westminster team,  so you are in good hands. Asia House do not permit throwing confetti on their steps, unfortunately. They are concerned it might stain their marble steps. So after the ceremony. I usually take clients around the corner, to one of the cobble stones side streets so typical of the area, for our confetti throw. And regular readers of this blog know how much I love a good confetti throw!

And so here we are at Asia House for Leon and Jans’ (short for Jansen), wedding. It was a lovely February morning, and even though it was a little chilly out, the sun was doing its best for us.

The groom arrived first with his family and friends, and the bride followed with her family. The couple had decided not to see each other before the ceremony. And so the first time Leon saw his bride was when her father was walking her down the aisle. The ceremony went perfectly to plan, and we had great fun with the confetti after the ceremony. The confetti throw was followed by a little bit of mingling, before it was time for the wedding portraits.

Now Asia House does not have any convenient green space nearby, unlike Mayfair Library. No park, not even a patch of grass. But what it does have is incredibly characterful, cobbled streets surrounded by brightly coloured mews houses. They make a great backdrop for portraits, although the cobblestones can present a challenge for a bride in heels! Still, we managed – and look how happy they are!

But it was February, and there was a limit as to how long Jans was willing to be out in the cold. So we grabbed a cab and headed across to the reception venue, The Prince of Wales Feathers pub. The dining room was beautifully decorated to welcome the bride and groom. But first we had drinks in their mini marquee, where the couple mingled with their guests ahead of the wedding breakfast. After a little bit of mingling, I left them to it.

Anyway, here’s a bit of wedding photography at Asia House for you.
