The intimate Christmas wedding of Leonie and Mark at Chelsea Register Office was full of laughter and joy as they tied the knot in front of two Chelsea Pensioners.
Leonie and Mark eloped from their home in Wales, arranging for Chelsea Pensioners Walther and John to be their witnesses. They were in the intimate Rossetti Room and we had crisp and sunny winter weather.
It was a complete delight working with Mark and Leonie – two people with a permanent twinkle in their eyes and constant laughter on their lips.
This wedding has so many elements I love – a sunny winter day (I just LOVE the gorgeous soft light that a bright winter’s day offers; a slightly more mature bride and groom, which always makes me happy as they prove that it is never too late for new love; and Chelsea Pensioners, who not only add a splash of colour to any ceremony, but also a real sense of Chelsea history, and a warm smile.
Leonie asked the guys to walk her into the ceremony, which they did with pride, and Walther delivered a wonderful reading during the ceremony (which I caught him practicing outside the door just beforehand).
After the ceremony, we took advantage of the gorgeous weather and a range of locations for our portraits, before heading off to the couple’s final destination – The famous Ritz Hotel on London’s Piccadilly for lunch. The hotel was decked out in full Christmas regalia, which offered a festive backdrop to our final shots of their intimate Chelsea wedding.
Best wishes to Mark and Leonie for many happy years together.
