London has taken a beating of late, with lots of sad news and negative press. So it’s time for a reminder what a fabulous, vibrant City this is with these London Landmarks Wedding Portraits taken after Nicola and Adam’s Chelsea Wedding.
I love London. Period. It has been my home for 35 years, and there is no city on earth I would rather live. It is full of life, culture, vibrancy and some of the most iconic architecture in the world. Nothing makes me happier than an excuse to show off, just how fabulous this city is. And so when Nicola and Adam asked if we could go to Westminster after their wedding at Chelsea Register Office, to shoot their wedding portraits, I bit their hand off.
Now, Westminster alone is not London. There are sooo many more fabulous places to photograph portraits, and to feature other iconic London Landmarks, such as Tower Bridge, the Southbank, the Millenium Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral, the list goes on. Not to mention all the beautiful parks and green spaces, and local neighbourhoods.
But a wedding usually has a timeline, and there’s only so long you can keep your family waiting. So you pick a location that gives you plenty of bang for your iconic landmarks buck. Westminster. The Houses of Parliament. Red London double-decker buses. Red Phone boxes. And, of course, the London Eye – all within a stone throw of each other.
Nicola and Adam also wanted to reflect the fact that their wedding took place at the famous Chelsea Register Office. So of course, we captured the big confetti throw on the register office steps, and started with some portraits in Chelsea. We then jumped into a black London taxi to head to Westminster for our London Landmarks Wedding Portraits. The wedding took place only a week after the terrible events at London Bridge, and still, Westminster Bridge was FULL of people taking in the sights. Tourists everywhere. Because London is OPEN. Now and always!
The couple have two little rugrats too, who were incredibly well behaved during the ceremony, and who then went off to be looked after by granny and granddad, whilst mummy and daddy had their photographs taken.
I am so delighted that this bride and groom came all the way from Wales to make this fabulous city, the backdrop to their wedding, and I wish them all the happiness in the world together.
