Mayfair Library Wedding Photography

Mayfair Library Wedding Photography:

Marylebone Old Town Hall, which used to be the venue for wedding and civil partnership ceremonies for Westminster is closed for refurbishment, and ceremonies are now being held at Mayfair Library instead.

I recently photographed my first wedding at Mayfair Library and shot a few venue details to let you know the scoop on the new location.

Mayfair Library is a lovely building and there is a gorgeous little park quite literally 20 feet away from the front door which is GREAT for groups shots and informal portraits. There are also two conveniently placed old style London red phone boxes outside – perfect for wedding portraits that say ‘London’.

There are two ceremony rooms, the Mayfair Room and the smaller Marylebone Room, both painted in shades of pale blue, pale green and cream. The rooms are well lit in daylight and have plenty of overhead lighting from big bright globes, which add a funky element to the photographs. There is also a really lovely administrative room where the pre-ceremony interviews take place.

All in all, Mayfair Library is a lovely building with some interesting features, and most importantly, is staffed by the super friendly Westminster Registrars. I look forward to photographing many ceremonies until the town hall is back in action.
